![]() ![]() The drivers for mounting image archives provide low-level API for mounting images in Windows and assigning drive letters to them. This process starts at the System Startup. Individual files and folders can also be selected for backup if a full image copy isnt needed. Customers can then recover an individual file, folder or the whole system. ![]() The special TimounterMonitor.exe process monitors the mounted images and constantly checks if there is enough space on the storage to save all the changes made to the sectors of the mounted image. Acronis True Image provides full image and mirror image backup, capturing a replica of the system disk or selected partition. So there will be an incremental image created even if the user did not access the mounted partition by means of any file manager. Windows operating system starts changing some sectors during the process of mounting the partition and organizing the access to it. Please note that the drivers will process absolutely all write requests, including the requests of the operating system. This incremental image includes all the changes made to the sectors of the mounted partition. As a result there will be created an additional *.tib file, which is appended incrementally to the mounted image. Then mounting in read/write mode the drivers allow the write requests to be processed. When mounting in read-only mode the mounted partition appears in a file manager and the user has only read-access to it. Acronis True Image Backup Archive Explorer allows users to mount partitions from images by means of Mount Image wizard in Acronis True Image products. ![]()
